For one of my family classes I've been asked to create a blog so I can share the information that I learn with others!  This class is going to be great, learning about family relations and how to build strong families in this difficult world!  So check it out and share your  insights!! One last Outing...

We had to go out with a bang...so what would be more perfect than spending the day in San Francisco!  Sheldon had the amazing idea to get tickets to a Giants game (baseball team...big deal I guess they were the champions last year for something...!) Sheldon almost had a cow when I asked what sport they played!! I can't keep all the teams straight we are rooting for!...
The day couldn't have been more perfect...
We started the day out by going to Twin Peaks (an overlook of the city)

The view was absolutely breath taking! From up here the city seemed peaceful and less intimidating, driving around the streets is always stressful and crazy but from up here it was beautiful.
After this we headed back into the madness to try to find parking for the game...this was the only part of the whole day that gave me an anxiety attack!  I don't think I've ever seen so many people in one area...and all of them were trying to park at the same time we were! Public parking is so expensive it's a joke...$30 for an evening...I don't think so!!  I also think it's funny that you have to have cash to pay...who carries that much cash...really! I guess we should have been a little more prepared...we only had $10 so I did something way out of my character....I don't like big cities, crowds of unfamiliar people, and scary stressful situations!
We were looking for an ATM (thank goodness for the GPS) but traffic was nuts...we were at a red light and Sheldon saw an ATM sign but we weren't sure how to get to it.  I got a burst of courage inside of me and I jumped out of the car to get cash!! I don't know what came over me...there were tons of people swarming the streets and I jumped right in the middle of them! Wow...when Sheldon was able find me..I was proud of my accomplishment! A minute later we found parking...for $10!! We didn't need the extra cash-oh well I feel like I overcame a few of my fears!

The game was amazing! They won..and it was overall an great way to end our California adventure!  We are now true Giants fans...FEAR THE BEARD! (my favorite chant of the night!)

Holy Cow!....Huge Tree's

There's no way we could live in California for three months without visiting the famous Redwood Forest! Talk about amazing...I don't think these pictures can portray how big these trees really are!

To get to this park we had to climb the nauseatingly curvy Santa Cruz mountain roads.

The road was only big enough for one car to fit on the road, it was a crazy route but I would say it was well worth the upset stomach when we reached the end result!

If we were ever caught in the wilderness during a torrential down pour...I would want to be somewhere with these large hollow trees!  They would be the perfect place to wait out the store.
I'm really considering taking up a modeling career....haha!
From the Big Basin Redwood Forest we traveled 40minutes down the the other side of the Santa Cruz mountains to......
 The Beach!

The Earth is truly an amazing place! One minute we are standing in a forest gazing up at the tallest trees ever, and then down the road we are sitting on the beach looking out at the horizon! When we first found out we were coming to California for Sheldon's internship I was really sad and scared to leave my home states! (Utah and Idaho)  I still miss them...but we've been able to find parts of California that we love! Gods creations are beautiful were ever you go....and I'm starting to realize that! I'm so grateful for the opportunity we've had to experience this part of the country.

날짜는 맛있는 음식을

Sheldon has been working so hard and we think it may be slowing down a bit!! The other day he came home at 6:00pm!!! This is the earliest he's been home since the first week we got here.  The sun was still up so we went for a walk...and took out little friend (Tuxedo) with us!  It was fun walking with the dog...it made me want a little puppy of my own to walk with everyday! One day....
I know Sheldon secretly likes Tuxedo...he just doesn't want to admit it!

Because it was Friday we decided to go out to dinner for date night!  Sheldon has a friend at work (who is also an intern from BYU-I) who has been wanting to take us to eat Korean food! Kim (Sheldon's friend)  Is from Korea, he has only been in the U.S. for a few years and recently joined the Church!  He is a really nice guy, he taught us all about Korean culture and took us to the best restaurant to experience the food.
Kim at the Restaurant
The experience was amazing!! We were so glad Kim was there to speak Korean and tell us what to order...or it would have been quite the ordeal. We ordered this meat that was SO good!  And the part that was even cooler is that they cook it at your table!  You can see in the picture on the left bottom corner...thats the grill that is built into the table!  They brought out this huge slab or raw meat and cooked it right there...flames and all!  While it cooked they brought out 10 other dishes to keep us busy....

I'm not going to lie...a few of the dishes were pretty "Hardcore Korean"...as Kim would say!  Sheldon and I...we were only beginners!  There were some dishes that were sweet, some spicy, others fishy and the rest just vegetabley!!  I'd never seen so many different vegetables used in one dish before....some I knew I had never seen before!

These were are favorite of the night...Sheldon is holding the delicious meat...and i'm holding the rice and vegetable dish! It was a very fun date....we loved trying new foods and for the most part I thought we were pretty brave!
