November

Where did November go? I swear the other day it was Halloween ..and now it's December!! Everything is going by so quickly...before I know it we will be back in Utah and our one year adventure will be over.  November has been awesome.  The weather in Ohio has been very pleasant.  We have seen snow and a few really cold days...but for the most part it's been really nice.  Toren's first Thanksgiving was a huge success.  It was weird being away from family, but we had a great time with our friends that we have made out here.  We ended up getting together with a few couples from the ward and it's really fun because there are four babies and they are all the same age! (So Toren as a lot of cute friends!)

These little ones had fun hanging out while the rest of us enjoyed good company and delicious food!

We have so much to be thankful for the year! This little boy has been the biggest blessing in our lives. The past week he has started to reach for things!  We will hold something up in front of him and his little hands work so hard to grab it! He is such a curious little guy and he doesn't want to be left out of anything.  He loves to watch us do everything...and I'm nervous that as soon as he starts moving on his own he will never stop!

......I'm not counting down or anything....but only 13 more days until we fly back to Utah to spend the holidays with our families! We really love Ohio, the only thing that would make it even better is if our families were closer so they could see Toren more often. That is why I'm so excited to spend a month close by so they can soak up his every move, giggle, slobbery fist...and everything else cute that he does!!

Three Months!!

We can't believe our little boy is 3 months old!! He is such a cutie and is getting SO big! Toren is giggling, and likes to slobber all over everything!

2 Months Old!

I can't believe my sweet little boy is already 2 months old! Time is going by way to quickly....and then again I'm loving the stage he is entering into! He is such an attentive, curious, smiley little boy!! We went to his 2 month appointment and he was such a brave little boy! The Dr. said he is doing awesome...he is a little on the thin side so we are going back in a few days to weigh him again.  They also put me on a few things to help increase my milk which I hope will help to plump our little boy up! We are still trying to figure this whole thing out...being a parent is the hardest thing we have ever done!! But....we love him!  

CRAZY LIFE!

Well....the past month has been crazy to say the least! I'm going to sum it up very quickly...Our little boy was born on July 31st, we blessed him on August 4th at home, We finished packing up all of our belongings, Sheldon and his dad drove 28 hours to move our belongings to Hilliard, Ohio, My mom and I drove to Utah with the baby, Sheldon and his dad drove 28 hours to come home, we had multiple doctors appointments before the move, My little brother had his mission farewell, we took our two week old baby on two air planes and officially moved to Ohio! All of this in the midst of learning how to be parents..

WOW! 

It makes me tired to think about all of it! 

But we've made it this far!

We love our town house...Sheldon is loving school...We both love our son to pieces...

Everything in our lives has changed in the past 4 weeks...This has been quite the adventure!!

Graduation!

 We did it! Sheldon and I both graduated!!! There were a few minutes we didn't think we would make it....this last semester was hard! We both had two classes....worked a little...got ready for the baby...wow it was CRAZY! (It really wasn't that bad)

We thought graduation was really fun...It was kind of long..and my feet were swollen....but It was a fun time to reminisce about our time at BYU-I 

BYU-Idaho will always have a special place in our heart because it's where we met...dated...started our life together...and will have our first baby!! SO many great memories! 

Sheldon was asked to speak during the convocation part of graduation! He did a wonderful job...and I was lucky enough to sit up on the stand with him!

Some how we got volunteered to sing in the choir.....

We were one of 66 other couples to graduate together!  

So glad my little brother Zac was able to come! 

Thank you family for coming and supporting us! We really wouldn't have made it through these past 4 years with out you! We love you SO much.

And how cool is it that our little boy got to graduate with us too...he was just hiding!

Love Your Body!

So I'm in this class right now and we are talking about threats to the family in our day and age and how we can advocate for families.  Everyone had to make a blog to talk about the threat of the family they were focusing on and one of the groups did body image.  I thought this was very interesting...but it is a threat to the family! The world portrays the perfect woman in such a skewed, unachievable way that at times we hate ourselves or neglect the ones we love trying to become the impossible.  Everyone needs a body...and you only get one....SO LOVE IT!  The group shared this video from youtube...and I loved it so much that I wanted to post it here so I have it forever.

I really needed this....being pregnant and watching my body change has been hard...I know that gaining weight and getting bigger is wonderful and very good for my baby..but my whole life it's been etched in my mind that this isn't supposed to happen...and it's bad!!

Well....I'm not going to think that way anymore! 

I'm embracing this beautiful body of mine!!

2 Year Anniversary!!!

On Monday we celebrated two years of being married! I really can't believe it's been two whole years...I feel like the time has gone by so quickly...but at the same time it was just yesterday we were in the temple for the first time together.  We have been reminiscing about all the adventures we have experienced in the past two years....

we've moved 7 times, lived in 3 different states, worked 6 different jobs, bought 1 new car, driven through 5 different states and along the Mexican Coast, visited 12 different temples, took a combined 194 more college credits, welcomed 1 new dog into the family, and started buying supplies for 1 new baby!!

What a crazy two years it has been....but we couldn't me more happy with life and the things we are experiencing...because we are doing them together!! I'm married to my best friend and I love him SO much! I look forward to many more wonderful years together...and the adventures they will bring!!

Spring 2012

So far this has been the best semester EVER!!! Granted it has only been two full weeks...but still I couldn't have asked for a better time to have a very relaxed school load!  Right now I have 4 credit hours...which equals 2 classes! I have class on Tuesday's and Thursday's and the rest of the week I have plenty of time to do homework.....work....shop for baby accessories....look for apartments in Ohio....and rest! 

I've never had a school schedule that allowed me to spend so much time on homework...I feel like I can really get into the material and learn it because I don't feel pressed for time!  There really are some times that I get a little bored...but I'm am not complaining!! The next few months are going to start getting crazy...so...I don't feel bad not having a lot to do right now.  

I'm loving Sheldon's schedule too...he has 6 credits, 2 classes...more homework than me and he is tutoring...but we get to eat lunch together everyday and our goal is to be done with homework at 5:00 each evening. (We've been able to keep that goal so far!)

 I feel pretty lucky!  

What a good last semester!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

I can't believe it is already April! The internship went by SO quickly.  I was really sad to leave Sandy, I feel like I was just getting used to it and finding my little groove in life..and now we are headed out again! Sheldon got really busy the last few weeks of the internship...so I went with my family on Spring Break to Moab! I was hard to leave Sheldon for a few days...but it was nice to not be alone and enjoy some time with my family!

We had so much fun and I was quite proud of myself for going on most of the hikes! In two days I hiked nearly 10 miles!! (I'm glad I've kept up walking during this pregnancy or I wouldn't have made it!)  I made sure to take it really easy, drink lots of water, and not get too hot! I was really grateful my best friend Michelle was there! She was so good to stay back with me! We had so much fun remenicing and catching up!

When I got back from Moab it was time to really crack down and get everything packed, cleaned, and loaded up!  My mom and sister are AMAZING and helped me get everything done! I really don't know what I would have done without them.  Saturday we borrowed my uncle Mikes trailer and packed our belongings up to be moved for the 7th time in almost 2 years......I think we are pretty much pros at moving!

Sunday evenining we made the long trek back to Rexburg, Idaho! I can't express how grateful I am for my wonderful family.  They really have done so much for us...(I'm getting teary so I better stop there...I'm blaming it on being pregnant!) but they really are so amazing and I love them SO much.  I'm also grateful for Sheldons wonderful family! Really I don't know what we would do without their love and support!!

And so here I am...sitting on campus...again...going to school, working and hoping the next three months go by fast....but not too fast!



Ohio State!

So Sheldon has been applying to for masters programs all over the the place....and we finally made a decision!!! In August we will be moving to Columbus, Ohio so Sheldon can start his Masters of Accounting program!!

We are so excited for this new adventure....and especially because we will have our cute baby here with us!

Sandy!

It's official...we moved to Sandy, Utah! (well only for three months!) But I'm so excited to be in Utah for a few months!  Sheldon is amazing and got an internship this winter with an accounting firm in Salt Lake City.  It's weird to think that a year ago we were in California doing the same thing...and I was freaking out! This time seems much easier.  We have a cute little apartment that we love...it's amazing the difference you feel after living in an apartment that is 30 years old...had cottage cheese ceilings...dark brown framing...and lights and fans that came from the 60's to something that is only 5 years old!

We love it here! I also Love it because Super Walmart is literally 100 steps away! At first I was skeptical, I though it would be noisy all the time....and annoying to have all the traffic....but really ITS AMAZING!  If we want to get a red box...it takes 2 minutes....if I'm missing a key ingredient...it takes 2 minutes! I don't have to get into the car and drive around the corner...I just walk through the fence and the front entrance is right there!   I know it sounds weird...I really do hate Walmart...but they are so convenient...and after being deprived for so long with the so called Walmart in Rexburg....this one is AMAZING!

Okay enough about Walmart....Anyways Sheldon isn't too crazy busy with work yet so we've been able to do a lot of fun things like....

Go to a Jazz game! It was a really fun date night and Sheldon was able to find seats for $15!!

Sheldon's favorite part of the game is going an hour early so he can watch everyone warm up!  I won't admit to it...but it is pretty fun!

This is the view from our seats...yup...4th row from the very very very top!...but really they weren't bad and the people we sat around were really fun.  So the Jazz game was a success and I think we will go again!

We also went to....

Brian Regan!! The worlds funnies comedian!! He is my all time favorite and Sheldon surprised me with tickets for Christmas! We ended up having amazing seats...and we didn't stop laughing for 2 hours! By the end my voice hurt, my face hurt and my head hurt...but it was well worth it! Listening to Brian Regan is funny...but watching him in person is hilarious!

So it's been an amazing adventure for us so far... and we are loving it!

Oh and one more thing....

We are 13 weeks pregnant!!! Second Trimester here we come!!
